The course consists of an in-water pre-test, lectures and videos, on-land and in-water skills sessions, final written tests, and final in-water skills scenarios.
Space is very limited so register early. The price includes all lodging, meals, and course materials. The course will begin at 9 AM on Friday, June 13 and end by 4 PM on Sunday, June 15.

Requirements PRIOR to first in-person class:
- Roughly 6 hours of online work to be completed BEFORE first class. The link will be provided via email approximately three weeks before the session.
In-water skill Assessment upon arriving at Pilgrim Lodge before coursework begins:
- Participants must jump into the water and swim 350 yards with either a breaststroke or front crawl. Immediately after the 350 yard swim participants will tread water keeping one’s head above water without using arms for 3 minutes. Following treading water, the participant will then swim another 200 yards with either the breaststroke or front crawl.
- Participants will start in the water and swim 20 yards and then dive down 7-10 feet to retrieve a brick. Once the participant grabs the brick both hands must be on the brick the participant swims back the 20 yards, put the brick onto the dock, and then get out of the water. This is a timed skill. Goggles are not allowed in this event.
- Participants will start in the water, swim 5 yards and then dive down to grab 3 rings spaced 5 feet apart in one breath. They will then surface and swim another 5 yards with all of the rings in hand. Goggles are not allowed in this event.
All participants will get 2 chances at all pre-course events. Inability to complete any of the three events will result in not being able to take the rest of the class and no refunds will be given.
Requirements DURING in-person classes:
